Policy and Practices
Safeguarding
As an Association we are committed to the safeguarding of children in our charge. It is with this commitment that we ensure that children are able to access a wide variety of activities both indoors and out, in a safe and secure environment. All adults upon application of undertaking a leader role are subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau/Disclosure & Barring Service check. Once in a position of leadership, adults must then take part in safeguarding children training which is updated on a regular basis. Such training is delivered to ensure that all leaders are made fully aware of their duty to safeguard children in their care. Leaders follow the policies and procedures of the Association to ensure that children can play and learn in an environment which is free from bullying or oppressive behaviour by leading through example and demonstrating themselves as positive role models. Such policies also ensure that adequate adult to child ratios are provided and no adult will ever lead on their own. Leader training and information updates are used to ensure that all leaders are up to date on current practices within the Association’s policies, of which are guided by current laws, legislation and guidelines.
